More than 45 million people visited the city in 2003, about half from Florida and the other half from abroad. The population of Metro Orlando, a three-county area that consists of 2,856 square miles, is about 1.8 million.

Orlando, Florida is located about 150 miles from the Georgia state line, 50 miles from the Atlantic Coast and 75 miles from the Gulf Coast. It’s also only about 370 miles from the Florida Keys.

They city’s largest employment industry is tourism which accounts for more than 214,800 jobs, making it Central Florida’s largest employer.

Theme parks is not all there is about Orlando, though, it’s also home to 4,500 restaurants and 114,000 hotel rooms.
